The Crucible Workshop MARCH 12

The Crucible inspires creative exploration and expression through welcoming, hands-on arts education and experiences for people of diverse ages and backgrounds. As an innovative hub built around the industrial arts, The Crucible is a catalyst for individual growth and vibrant community connections.

Youth workshops are usually three hours long in which participants create a small project that they take away with them. There are a minimum and maximum number of people that can do a workshop at one time, and some groups do multiple workshops over the course of a day. Below are descriptions of some of our youth workshops.

Metalsmithing. Age 12 to 25 (pediatric cancer patient)

Participants learn to anneal, cut, drill, hammer and texture copper or bronze to create a charm, pendant or key chain, zipper pull or card holder. Metalsmithing requires a minimum of 5 youth to run a workshop and can take up to 10 students.

Clay Sculpture. Age 6 to 11

Students learn exciting techniques in working with clay. Projects in this area can include cups, bowls, trivets, masks or figures. Clay requires a minimum of 4 youth to run a workshop and can take up to 8 students.
