One of my mother’s wishes was for a material effort in helping others.

She died of cancer a couple years ago

Are you an Artist? Do you like creating with acrylic paint, Munny's, Lego's? Do you like to use words and color in visual ways? Do you like to work with kids? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then you will love to create with our Kids & Art families.

There are several ways that you can empower us at Kids & Art, so we can keep doing what we are here to do: paint, make a mess, and make an artist out of a child regardless of the battles they're fighting in their real life. Help us create a make-believe world of beauty and lots of imagination. Sometimes, the artwork does stay longer than most of these children. We know that first hand, because our founder has walls full of beautiful art made by her son who passed away almost three years ago.

From October to May, we meet once a month and create art for a few hours. We will post the calendar and all you have to do is sign-up to volunteer. We will provide all the art supplies. You are welcome to bring your tools and any specific materials you like to work with.

What is a Kids & Art Workshop?

At our workshops, we pair up Artists with kids who have had cancer or are still in treatment along with their siblings and care-circle. Sometimes we do a one-on one art session and sometimes, we assign 3 to 4 kids per artist.  We also have special art workshops for bereaved families.

How many kids do you work with ?

Our workshops will invite anywhere from 10 to 40 kids. The only workshop where we had more kids is when we had various art stations at Google. Last year we had about 180 people (kids and adults).

What is the age range of the kids?

Our kids range from 5 to 18 years.

Where do you host your art workshops?

We like to take our kids and families to different destinations in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. In the past we have created art at Pixar Animations Studios, DreamWorks, Redwood City Art Center, Private Artist Studios, and Google.

Can I post my artist bio on your Artists section of the site?

If you have created with Kids & Art and worked with 1 or more kids, you can send us your bio with a few examples of your work and we will post it for you on our Artists page.

Can I donate a piece of art for your Auction?

Thank you for your generosity! However, we can only accept art from artists who have created with our kids.

Please fill this form if you would like more information or you would like to sign-up to volunteer.
